Q:
What age children do you accept?
We accept children ages 3 years up through Middle School.
Q: Do you take children to school and
pick them up?
A: Yes, Fitness & Fun services all of the local schools in Kingwood.
We drop them off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon in
our air conditioned vans equipped with DVD players
Q: Do you give the kids a snack?
A: During the school year we provide an afternoon snack for
our school aged children and a morning snack for our pre-school aged
children. During the summer months we provide both a morning
and afternoon snack.
Q: Do the kids have an opportunity to do their
homework?
A. Yes. We have a tutor on staff to help your child with
homework Monday through Thursday. We take Fridays off to
play.
Q: Is your staff CPR and First Aid Certified?
A: Yes, Fitness & Fun is a State licensed agency and requires
all staff members working directly with children to be CPR and First
Aid Certified as well as to complete 15 hours of continuing
education in the childcare field per year.
Q: What does a typical afternoon look like and will
my young child be in a class with the older kids?
A: We are a bit different than most daycares in our area.
Fitness & Fun doesn't have classrooms, but rather, age groups.
Once the children come in from school and finish their homework, we
rotate them through the various activities we offer. Some of
those activities include time in our arcade room, playing organized
games and activities in the gym, playing outside on the playground
or basketball or playing board games in our Fitness & Fun main area.
From time to time staffing and child to caregiver ratios will
require us to combine age groups.
Q: What is your summer program like?
A: Our summer program is a very busy, active program. We
rotate the children through many of the same activities we offer
during the school year. Swimming is a huge part of our summer
programming. We visit places such as Moody Gardens, Blue Bell
Creamery, NASA, movies, horseback riding and much, much more!
Also included in our summer program are weekly karate lessons with
Master Peavey. During the summer we provide a morning and
afternoon snack for the children.
Q: Is lunch included in your summer program?
A: No, lunch should be sent from home each day.
Occasionally we will have a day we order pizza or lunch will be
included in the cost of a field trip.
